On February 28th 2010 the members and friends of Church of the Saviour (COS) celebrated a great day.  We had just opened our doors for ministry to the Rohrersville/South County area of Washington County, MD.   We were so thankful to the previous Central United Brethren Church congregation - they had gifted us this  fine old 19th century building in which we now worship.  It was a little bit dog-eared, but that just made it seem more like home . . . a new home.   You can watch the events of that day as reported by WHAG, just click the "Gallery" tab above, then click on the WHAG tab to access the video.

That was over ten years ago.  During that period COS has faithfully pursued our biblical motto to "equip the saints for the work of ministry".  Throughout this time Pastor (Duke) Jeffries has faithfully led us and pulled us upward - constantly upward, and urged us forward to the high calling of the saints.

We sadly announce that Pastor Duke is embracing a well deserved season of retirement from fulltime ministry, effective at the conclusion of 2019.

We will soon be in need of a pastor.  Since you are reading this, we earnestly ask you to pass this information to any prospective minister.  Additionally, we are a small congregation, and we will gladly consider any proposal by another congregation to partner with us in order that the great upward calling of the saints may continue in this rural part of the county.

You can contact Pastor Jeffries at 301-739-5662.   Our mailing address is: Church of the Saviour,  PO Box D, Rohrersville, MD 21779

Thank you,  and may our God, who is able to present you faultless before the presence of His Glory, bless you for aiding us, and joining in our quest!

ESSENTIAL CHRISTIANITY:

The Doctrine of Authority

Genesis 1:1 states plainly that all authority belongs to God. “God says this, God says that, and it is done”, notes British theologian N.T. Wright.

“Now if this is not authoritative, I don't know what is”.

ESSENTIAL CHRISTIANITY:

The Doctrine of Man

How does God, as He is depicted in the Bible, see humanity?

How then should we, as Christians, respond appropriately? How should we see humanity?

How should we, as Christians, regard individual people – those we don’t know, but read and hear about
